When I become supreme leader of the English speaking world, my first order shall be that henceforth and hereafter the apostrophe is to be dropped from all English spelling. I get so tired of seeing it misused that I’d rather never see it again, than see one more example of banana’s or trouser’s, or even trou’sers.
My second order shall be that nouns which end in y shall be pluralised as ys. Hence cherrys.
My third order will be that the future indicative of to be will use will throughout, and the subjunctive will use shall throughout. No more of this dumb swapping over of will and shall in the first person.

So that’s one down, just another 509,999,999 more people to persuade. Simples!
